Kwanzaa Candelabra/Kinara

$200.00

Designed by Christine Miller

Fabricated by Mars Yard Overshoe

SN:093.12.23.2022

Dimensions: 21X3X5 (LWH in inches)

Fits 1” diameter candles

Item description: A reimagined tradition, created in collaboration between two artists. 30 individual plywood plates assembled in a method that makes each pillar look as if it’s floating. The steel spine substructure connects the 7 pillars into one unit.

The colors and shades of each plate represent the mix of skin tones of people of African descent.

All candelabras/kinaras are hand stained in a method that creates variations between pieces. No two kinaras are the exactly the same shade or color, this is intentional.

The kinara can stand alone as a sculpture in your home for all the days that fall outside of Dec 26 - Jan 1.

Each candelabra/kinara is made to order and meant to last for years to come. You are investing in a generational artifact. Please allow 10-12 business days to from order to receipt.

Included with purchase is a zine describing the seven days of Kwanzaa, created by Christine Miller.
