Why did you create an faq page?
Standardization helps me be an expressive individual.
who are you?
I was born in West Philly, grew up in Yeadon and went to Drexel University for mechanical engineering. After more than 10 years of chasing money and titles, I decided to find a more fulfilling career working at Nike. I am curious about pushing the limits of my own potential. I have a healthy disregard for the impossible. Sharing what I’ve learned with others is my greatest responsibility. I enjoy progress over perfection.
describe your ideal work day?
Wake up rested / Cold Shower / Oatmeal / A good audio book for my commute / meditate / fail fast / learn from the failures / LUNCH / physical activity / more learning / more failing / a good podcast for my commute home / dinner / a documentary / bedtime
My work day is a mixture of meetings, process creation and technology research.
can you share any career advice?
I believe all things can be spoken into existence, THOUGHTS BECOME THINGS. If you have clearly defined goals and are not afraid to tell the world about your goals, you can achieve anything. Write it down, be specific, and operate with a growth mindset. Getting your foot in the door is a poor approach. Telling a compelling story is important, so you have to know and understand yourself completely.
How do you spend your time away from work?
Being a father and husband are the most important things in my life. I enjoy creating things with my hands, from shoes to sculptures. I like learning skills or information and applying what I learned immediately. I record a podcast (Stonecutters Podcast) with my brother William Catlett where we get to share our experiences with the world. Art museums, movies and books are some good time spenders.
Who are some of the people who inspire you?
My mother, my wife, my daughter. The countless mentors and teachers that helped me reach this point in my journey. The artists and thought leaders who create their own path in life. The friends who support my crazy aspirations, The people all around the world who attempt the impossible.
What are your grooming habits?
Until further notice, I am giving my hair the opportunity to reach its full potential. As for facial hair, I prefer to keep a #1 length at all times, which means a weekly trim. All other body hair is kept at an appropriate length not to cause any concerns.
